Gua sha is an ancient Chinese therapy that uses a tool to rub or scrape the skin's surface in long strokes. This massage technique moves energy, known as qi (or chi), around the body, and is used as a beauty tool for applying moisturiser and oils, and for sweeping and clearing inflammation and stagnation from areas of the face and body. Gua Sha can be used for acupressure as well to stimulate energy within the meridians.

Serpentine gemstone, named for its mottled and scaly appearance like a serpent or snake, is a grounding stone valued for its ability to provide clarity of thought and connection to one's highest self.

Metaphysically, Serpentine clears blockages and stagnation in the chakras, especially the crown and heart chakra, so it is used on the entire body with a focus on the face, neck, and chest. Through opening the chakras, Serpentine is an excellent stone for emotional balance, meditation, and the retrieval of untapped wisdoms.

On a physical level, Serpentine is extremely cleansing and detoxifying for the body and blood. It has been associated with the treatment of diabetes and hypoglycemia, elimination of parasites within the body, and aids in the absorption of calcium and magnesium.

Black Obsidian is as dark as night and is a powerful tool for seeking protection, grounding, deeper healing, and tearing the fabric of falsity to find the truth within. Obsidian is a great tool for balancing and enhancing the root chakra as it is useful in cutting toxic ties. It is helpful in clearing out any baggage and trauma holding us back from living in the present moment. It’s also a stone that comes swallowed up in a lot of history. Beloved by the Mayan’s and the Aztecs, Obsidian was used in a multitude of ways and in its heyday, had more worth than gold. Ancient shamans, healers, and stone-age spiritualists worked with it to look deeper into spiritual realms as well.  

Our Obsidian gua sha is made of natural volcanic black Obsidian and sculpted into the ideal facial tool designed to visibly lift, strengthen, and de-puff your skin. Obsidian's unique properties make it an excellent choice for gua sha due to its ability to maintain heat which encourages the skin's natural circulation flow. The warmth of the Obsidian encourages stimulation of the lymphatic system as well. Facial and body gua sha with Obsidian will energize the skin, reduce toxins, and promote clearer, brighter skin.

Green Aventurine is most commonly found in India and legend has it that drinking water infused with Aventurine is an effective remedy for skin problems. Using Aventurine gua sha on your face and body comes with many benefits as it's known to be useful in clearing skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and rosacea due to its anti-inflammatory properties. It's also been known to improve functioning of the thymus gland and support a healthy nervous system. It's a very smooth stone and readily warms to your skin temperature.

Directions for Facial Gua Sha:

• Apply Anoint CBD Face Oil to skin.
• Repeat each step below 3-6 times.

Neck ~ With the inside curved side of the Gua Sha tool, sweep the neck in a downward motion from the jawline to the collarbone with very light pressure.

Jaw ~ With the jagged curved side of the Gua Sha tool, move from the center of the chin, gliding along the jawline to the ear using light to medium pressure.

Cheek ~ With the outer curved side of the Gua Sha tool, start at the corner of your mouth and sweep upwards under your cheekbone towards your hairline using light pressure.

Eye ~ Use tip of the outer curved side of the Gua Sha tool to glide under the eye (staying on the orbital bone) outwards to meet the hairline with no pressure.

Eyebrow ~ With the jagged curved side of the Gua Sha tool, gently sweep upwards from under the eyebrow bone to the hairline.

Forehead ~ With the outer curved side of the Gua Sha tool, gently massage the forehead upwards from the eyebrow to the hairline with light to medium pressure.

Neck ~ Come back to the neck to drain the lymphatic fluid toward the lymph nodes to be filtered and moved back into the bloodstream. With light to medium pressure, use the inside curved or the jagged curved side of the Gua Sha tool and sweep from just under the ear down the neck past the collarbone in the direction of the underarm.
